Andrea shared her vision for an initiative she was building, The Vast Connection, a community that would bring together individuals with ADHD while educating those without it. She mentioned she was in need of a graphic designer to help develop a logo, brand identity, and website, and I was excited to step in and assist.

Business Card Concepts: A First Step Toward Brand Identity

The first project was designing business cards for Andrea. The goal was to create something that would reflect the inclusive and empowering nature of The Vast Connection. We explored several concepts that visually symbolized connection, growth, and community, eventually landing on a design that represented these values.

Postcard Design: A Memorable Conference Takeaway

Andrea also needed a postcard to distribute at conferences where she presented on The Vast Connection. For the postcard design, I created a unique and impactful background featuring a wall of names—individuals who have ADHD and have made notable contributions in various fields. At the center, I designed a visual homage to Mount Rushmore, highlighting a select group of key figures from the list. This powerful imagery was intended to leave a lasting impression on those receiving the postcard, reinforcing the idea that people with ADHD have the potential to achieve greatness.

The Chevrons: Symbolizing Growth and Inclusion

One of the early design concepts we explored for The Vast Connection was a set of chevrons. These chevrons symbolized the dual direction of growth for the community—both expanding to welcome more individuals with ADHD and reaching out to those without it, fostering mutual understanding. Though they were an early concept, they reflected Andrea's vision for the initiative as a place of shared learning and support.

Website Design: From Sketches to Digital Presence

As we moved forward, I developed sketches for The Vast Connection website. The design needed to reflect the community’s mission, providing a welcoming space for resources, support, and engagement. The sketches laid the foundation for a clean, accessible website that was both informative and visually aligned with the brand identity we had established.

Through our collaboration, I helped Andrea build the visual and digital presence of The Vast Connection, ensuring that the brand communicated its core message of connection, growth, and empowerment for the ADHD community.
